RHS Garden Wisley

I have been a few times to Wisley, so I knew even on a wet day it would be enjoyable. Unfortunately, the heavens opened up today and didn't really let up. Luckily, they have quite a few sheltered places to take refuge, not to mention the glasshouse and cafés.

So onto the plant run down...

At first I thought it was Angelica but after some research I found it was Black Parsley (Melanoselinum decipiens).

It's a short lived perennial. After two+ years it produces beautiful pink flowers, like you can see here. Then dies after flowering, but then leaves a fantastic silhouette and then usually self-seeds.

Unfortunately, it's borderline hardy and dislikes winter wet, but I may try growing it anyway.

Note: It's highly toxic and the sap may irritate skin.
