The humble caterpillar.. did you know we have 2500 species of moth in the UK?

Did you know we have some beautiful moths here in the UK. My personal favourite is the Hummingbird Hawk Moth (photo coming soon).

To encourage a wide range of moths: Plant primrose, tobacco and honeysuckle and don't use pesticides.

Why do we want to encourage them? Because, they are great pollinators and help a lot with pollinating food crops and they also provide a food source for birds.

This photo below was outside my front door, I later found out that he will turn into a Ruby Tiger Moth. They prefer to eat dandelions, so I promptly moved him to his food source, using leaves from my mint plant so not to hurt him and to protect myself as handling them can cause allergic reactions.
